Treating a Jaguar

Recently Dr. Misher had the opportunity to treat a jaguar at the Philadelphia Zoological gardens.

A three year old jaguar called Jimmy, had broken both his left and right cuspid teeth and was left with a significant dental problem.

After the veterinarians had sedated and transported Jimmy to the treatment facility, a colleague performed root canal treatment on both cuspid teeth.

Following the root canals, Dr. Misher and Jennifer, his assistant, were able to reconstruct the remaining tooth structure and rebuild the teeth with direct bonding.

Jimmy is doing well, and Dr. Misher recalls this as one of his most interesting restorative problems and also one of his most rewarding.

These are some of the photographs taken during the procedure.
